Jesus Gives an Easy Yoke

Matthew 11:25-30 Ever since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit the question for humanity has been: “How can I avoid death?”   How can I fix the fact that I am no longer what God created me to be?   How can I become right with God?                 From these questions spring forth every doctrine, every religious practice, every value system on the planet.   We have asked the question, and there are always plenty of teachers out there ready to give us an answer.  Jesus says, “ Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.   For my yoke is easy and my burden is light .”                 The yoke was an image that rabbis in the days of Jesus used to describe their teaching and the teaching of the law.   A true yoke ...
